Pizza places in the United States run from a counter with two stools and a stack of boxes to a full sit-down pizzeria with a bar, and most neighborhood shops do all three things at once: dine-in, takeout and delivery. Ordering by phone is still common and often faster than an app, and many independents charge less when you call direct because there is no platform fee. Sizes are usually listed in inches (a small around 10", a large 14", an extra-large 16" or more), and a large feeds two to three adults. Slices are sold from a display case at New York-style counters and reheated to order; whole pies take 15-25 minutes at a busy shop. Most spots take cards and mobile pay, though a few older pizzerias remain cash-only, so check the door or the listing before you order.
The business lists hours on 5 days of the week. The most common schedule is 6β11 pm. It is closed on Monday, Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Kung Fu Pizza Bar at (773) 328-7499; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.
On Google it holds a rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 189 reviews, which is a strong result for a pizza restaurant in Chicago and suggests consistent service.
Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. Getting around Chicago is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Illinois's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

If I could give this place zero starts I really would. The guy working here is an absolute miserable person that yells at customers. I waited 20 minutes for a slice of cheese that I never got and honestly thank goodness because the slice he grabbed from the hotbox looked like 3 day old pizza. Save yourself the trauma. Iβm used to a New Yorker attitude considering half my family is from there and this wasnβt attitude. This wasnβt charm. This wasnβt part of the experience. This was a miserable man projecting his misery on paying customers. Truly donβt know how people have had a positive experience here.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld soup episode. Place is run by an older man who might say 3 words to you throughout the whole interaction. Itβs part of the experience! You order the pizza, which is topping-ed and warmed to order, so expect 3ish minute wait. The pizza is not earth shattering, but itβs very good for the price. The selection of sodas with the pizza is top notch; think retro Mountain Dew and a&w rootbeer. If youβre wanting a deep dish slice, they arenβt usually served until an hour after opening. If youβre looking for a good cheap bite in the area, donβt hesitate to knock on the window.

They get five stars for the price and the taste of the pizza. When compared to similar type pizza, such as Little Caesars. For five dollars you got two slices of pizza and a can of soda. Itβs literally a hole in the wall we almost missed it. Walk up to the window to order.

Hidden Gem right in your face. Opens at 6pm it's great to get a Nyc slice pizza or deep dish for a great price. Stop by the other day and the pizza was great and the guy was nice as well. Will be back soon...... π

Pizza is something I crave daily bc in nyc you can get a slice of pizza for $1 - $5 at mostly anytime. Today was one of those days at 10pm in Chicago. So Kung Fu Pizza Bar is directly across the street from the Division Blue CTA line. And the bus is also right here on the same side steps away. The actual door is closed bc itβs like Covid era ordering β¦ just through the window :-) Itβs funny bc of all the ramen bags that decorate the window and the star wars memorabilia and Asian figurines and candy bags. The guy who owns it didnβt speak a word after we knocked on the window as advised on his piece of paper, we said βhelloβ and ordered the $5 cheese and pepperoni pizza w a can of soda which ended up being $6 without him saying anything or a receipt given bc he gave us $4 back from a $10 so I guess tax was 20% but we didnβt expect that bc sales tax is 10% in Chicago. The paper sign notes itβs five dollars plus tax but It doesnβt say taxes 20%. So I wish he wouldβve communicated or at least put it on the paper that is going to be a total of $6 including tax or just make it a flat rate of $6 or a $5 flat fee. We still said βthank youβ after getting the order and still we heard nothing.
